Anam Rurban Design Workshop brings together architects, landscape architects, engineers, healthcare professionals and international policy team members from Africa, North America and Europe to develop innovative strategies for sustainable development to be prototyped in Anam City, a community-initiated new town project in Eastern Nigeria.
An evolution of our successful past internship programs, the Chife Foundation accepts applications for the Workshop throughout the year from hands-on graduate students and professionals who have a passion to design/build implementable projects in our research areas. It is a unique opportunity to be involved in the development of a ‘new town’ project that models sustainable typologies for development in Africa.
A joint partnership between the Umuoba-Anam Community and the Chife Foundation, Anam City is currently under-construction in southeastern Nigeria. You can follow progress on the Anam City blog and website.
In 2012 the workshop will focus on engineering technology and health. We will invite professionals and students with a background in environmental, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering and tropical medicine or public health. Other project ideas will be considered.
If you would like to apply to join the Workshop in 2012, please submit a resume and letter of interest via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
